Recommendations

There are several trails in and around the Salt lake valley including Ward canyon road in Bountiful and also American Fork canyon near Alpine, UT. If you want to travel a little farther, there are many trails near Kamas, UT such as Soapstone, or the Arapeen trail system in the Manti-la sal National forest. And if you don't mind travelling a little farther still, there is my personal favorite - Casto canyon Located between Panguitch, UT and Bryce canyon.
